Participation in the Krakoff Leadership Institute will take you on a journey of learning, exploration and application. I would like to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to the IAEE Krakoff Leadership Institute and tell you a little bit about me. 

I entered the  speaking and training profession after a successful career in industry where I led and managed a wide variety of companies, divisions and teams.  Holding leadership positions in mega corporations and small family held companies has provided me with the background and knowledge I have needed to be successful at every level.

But here is what I think you might be interested most:

I have held leadership positions in the exhibitions and events industry, and I am familiar with the opportunities and challenges an evolving industry leader may encounter.  I have set up booths, rolled out carpet, hung pipe and drape, conceived trade shows, sold booth space, negotiated contracts, and even run a forklift.  I have also been on the consumer side, having done site selection, negotiated with venues, designed and printed brochures, staffed and run a registration counter.  In short, I have leadership, managerial and non-managerial industry experience, including trash hauling.

Prior to becoming a professional leadership facilitator, I was the Vice President of Trade Shows and Conventions and then Executive Vice President of Administration for the Dallas Market Center.  One of the busiest exhibition centers in the United States, and I loved every facet of the exhibitions and events business. As I was evolving my leadership skills in these leadership positions, my passion for leadership and educating and developing emerging leaders began to form.

Since leaving the exhibitions and events industry, I have collaborated,  developed and coached some of the most senior and, in some case, top executives of prominent companies, such as: Ford Motor Company, General Electric, IBM, AT&T, Sun Microsystems (now Oracle), General Motors, NASA, Abbott Labs, Merck, KPMG, Ernst & Young and dozens of others. Periodically, my client base will shift as some companies identify the need for leadership develop and others mature their leadership development programs, but the knowledge, skills and abilities related to leadership transcends all industries and is relevant no matter which path you decide to take in your career. Join a select group of emerging industry leaders as they begin their leadership development journey in the IAEE Krakoff Leadership Institute in 2012.
